Redbridge is a remarkable place…and is changing rapidly. Our population has grown and changed substantially over the past few decades making us one of the fastest growing parts of the country, as well as one of its most diverse. Public services are changing to rise to the challenges this growth brings and seizing the opportunities to deliver tangible benefits for the communities of today as well as the residents of tomorrow.
Unsurprisingly, I am looking for people to join our team who want to make a difference. But I am not looking for people who only want to do things in ways they have always been done. We are creating a truly collaborative culture where we work closely with each other across the council, with our partners and, most importantly, with our communities. If you want a role at the top of a traditional hierarchy where you will spend most of your time at your desk, then I am afraid Redbridge will not be for you.
I expect our leaders to be visible and innovative whilst energising and nurturing those around them to achieve great things. I also expect them to work side by side with our elected politicians and the communities we all serve. And in return, we will invest in you – to help you become the very best leader you can be.
There are many hugely talented people living and working across our borough who have contributed to our vision for the future. The following pages will provide you some detail on what we have achieved thus far and, with your help, what we hope to achieve in the months and years ahead.
